The ECO-series Oil Screen Kitchen Exhaust Filter System is a revolutionary modular concept designed specifically for commercial kitchen applications where exhaust emissions and odour considerations are critical. Each system is packaged with the high-performance Oil Screen filter, particulate and smoke filters, and optional odour absorbing filters, achieving a maximum level of pollution abatement. The ECO series kitchen exhaust filter system is tested in accordance with ULC S647 and must be installed in accordance with NFPA96, CSA and all applicable national and electrical codes.
Heat, smoke, steam, oil and grease particles are drawn through the kitchen hood and ducted to the ECO exhaust filter system, which extracts the contaminants with an efficiency up to 99% on particles as small as 0.3 micron. The initial filtration stage consists of Oil Screen filters which provide a highly efficient filtration of the liquid grease & oil particles preventing these liquid contaminants from entering the smoke and odour filters. In doing this, several benefits are realized:
  • the disposable smoke filter stages last longer
  • maintenance frequency & costs are reduced
  • exhaust air flow remains constant
  • offensive odours normally generated by grease-clogged filters are prevented
Odours remaining after the high-efficiency final smoke filter stage are less concentrated and offensive. Odour reduction can be achieved using less-expensive carbon or potassium-permanganate filters without the need for large media beds or odour spray systems.
The resulting clean air is passed through the fan section before to the discharge outdoors.
Control and monitoring of the system is provided by a micro-processor-based control panel. Adjustment of the fan speed is achieved via the keypad of the electronic speed control or an external control signal from a filter loading sensor, demand control system, BMS or other suitable signal.
Installation Clean exhaust air with an acceptable amount of odours removed can be discharged to the outside through the side of a building or adjacent to higher structures, thus saving costly runs of heavy-gauge welded exhaust ducts to the roof level.

Components
  • Filter Section- consists of Oil Screen filters, secondary multi-stage smoke filters and optional odour abatement filter.
  • Fan Section- separate cabinet matches profile of filter section, contains high static, non-overloading backward inclined fan. Direct-drive with variable frequency speed control offers smooth start-up and lower operating sound levels than noisy belt drives. Motor is high-efficiency, inverter-duty type.
  • Unit Controls- filter sensors monitor clogged filter and missing filter conditions. Upon sensing missing filter, sensor shuts down fan and activates appliance interlock output.
  • Control Panel- ON/OFF switch; indicator LED’s for clogged filter, missing filter & fan running status. Dry contacts provided for interlock to MUA on-off control and missing-filter appliance shutdown interlock.
