The SM-series is a self-contained mist filter system for small-to-medium air flow volumes.
It collects mist directly from the process, separates it from the air stream and re-circulates
the clean air back into the room. Fluids that are separated from the air stream are collected for
appropriate disposal or recovery and re-use in the process. The SM system can be mounted directly
on the machining centre or process. The air circulation is provided by a high-efficiency direct-drive
compact fan located in the clear air stream inside the unit. This fan is statically and dynamically balanced
to ensure vibration-free operation thereby eliminating concerns for vibration transmission to the process.
The proprietary technology in the Oil Screen mist filter separates the mist droplets from the air stream through
a vortex-impingement action. The separators are conveniently packaged into a metal frame, 2 inches thick for simple
removal and cleaning. As the mist-laden air passes through the separator the mist droplets are separated with an efficiency
of greater than 95%. The clean air exits the separator while the separated liquids are drained downward into a reservoir
for return to the process or disposal as required. System maintenance is minimized and significantly lower than mist filter
systems using conventional filters, fibre-beds, rotating drums or electrostatic separators. The Oil Screen Filters are permanent,
washable and re-usable.
